Ridge Gourd Chutney



Ingredients
  • 2 medium sized ridge gourd ( peel the skin and cut into 1 inch pieces)
  • 2 green chilli
  • 2 small tomatoes( chopped)
  • 4 - 5 cloves of garlic
  • salt to taste
  • chopped fresh corriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • tamarind a little (soaked in water)
  • ingredients for tempering: curry leaves, red chilli halved, mustard seeds, asafetita powder, split urad dhal, cumin seeds
Directions
  • cook the ridge gourd, tomatoes, green chilli, garlic cloves in a closed pan without any water. Add a little salt.
  • After the vegetable is cooked, cool it and grid it into a coarse paste . while grinding add a few corriander leaves, cumin seeds and tamarind to the vegetable and grind.
  • After tempering pour the tempered ingredients into the ground chutney.
