Ingredients
Cauliflower ( medium size) : 1
Onion ( big ) : 1
Maida : 1/2 cup
Corn flour : 1/4 cup
Cooking soda : a little
Water : 3/4 cup ( approximately )
Salt : as needed
Oil : for frying
Soya sauce : 2 tbsp
Peppercorns : 1/2 tbsp
Garlic ( ground ) : 1 tbsp
Ginger ( ground ) : 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder : 1/2 tsp
Red colour : a little
Method
Soak cauliflower in water and boil with salt.
Cut cauliflower into small pieces and pour hot water over it for a minute.
Any impurities or germs will float above.
Remove the flowers and set aside till the water drains.
Do not strain.
Mix cauliflowers with soya sauce, peppercorns, garlic, ginger and chilli powder.
The flowers should not be broken.
Let the flowers marinate for half an hour.
Grind onion and mix with the three flours, red colour to a thick batter and add salt.
Heat oil in a frying pan.
Dip the flowers in the batter and fry.
This manchurian can be eaten with chilli or tomato sauce.
Note : Manchurian can also be prepared with snake gourd, soya, bitter gourd.
