Ingredients:
Rice - 2 cups
Potatoes - 2
Onion - 1
Groundnuts (peanuts) - 1/2 cup
Jaggery - 1-3 tbsp (Grated)
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Raisins - 2 tbsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt little to taste.
Method :
1. Wash the rice and soak in water for 20 minutes.
2. Grind peanuts into a coarse powder.
3. Chop onions finely.
4. Peel the potatoes and cut into cubes. Fry in hot oil till golden colour.
5. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan, add chopped onions and fry till soft. Add ground peanut powder, fry for a minute. Add rice and raisins, fried potatoes, salt and 4 cups of fresh water.
6. Bring it to boil, cook covered on a low flame for 10 - 15 minutes.
7. Finally add garam masala powder and grated jaggery. Stir and serve hot.
