Ingredients
Cleaned prawns :500 gm
Onion (cut finely):¼ kilo
Tomato (cut finely): ¼ kilo
Ginger:a small piece
Garlic :1 big
Chilli Powder:as needed
Turmeric Powder:1 tsp
Coriander leaves:¼ bunch
Salt:as needed
Oil:200 gm
Lime:½ piece
Mustard :1 tsp
Coriander seeds:1 tsp
Coconut : ½
Poppy seeds: 1 tsp
Cashew :5 gm
Method
Clean and cut coriander leaves finely.
Grate coconut. Peel garlic and set aside.
Heat oil in a frying pan.
Add mustard and when it splutters, add onion and fry.
Add tomato, half of the peeled garlic, coriander leaves til golden.
Add prawns and fry.
Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and fry.
Add a little water and cook.
Grind grated coconut, ginger, remaining garlic, poppy seeds,coriander seeds into a paste.
When the prawns are cooked, add the ground paste and cook till the gravy is thick.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
