Ingredients
Chana dal powder : 2 cups
Chilli Powder : 2 tsp
Salt : 1 tsp
Oil : as needed
Asafoetida : ½ tsp
Curry leaves : a few
Cooking soda : ¼ tsp
Method
Sieve chana dal powder. Mix chana dal powder, chilli Powder, asafoetida and with water in a bowl. It should be of liquid consistency. Heat oil in a frying pan. Take the boondhi ladle. Pour a small cup of the dal mix in the ladle. Hold it over the frying pan and when you tap the edge of the ladle, the boondhis will fall in oil. When the sound of boiling oil subsides remove the boondhi from oil. Take the boondhis in a bowl. Fry the curry leaves and add it to the boondhi. Cashews can also be fried and added to the boondhi if needed.
