The tomoto subzi for which I have given the recipe is easy to mae,lght on the stomachan excellent side dish for chappathi7curd rice as wellbesides t contans less ol does not need coconut hence ideal foe diabetics.
For two persons.
Ingredients required:
Ripe tomotos ;three finely cut
Green chillies: cut length wise
Turmeric powder:Little
Salt to taste
fenu greek,roasted powder:one teaspoon
Crry leaves:Finely chopped
Kothmir:one teaspoon finely chopped.
Oil :Two teaspoons
mustard,urad dhal for seasoning.
How to make:
Heat oil in a kadai add the mustard and urad dhal.Once the mustard seed crackles and the dhall become red add the finely cut tomotos add salt,haldi powder,fenu greek powder ,asafotida powder,and keep stirring .once the tomo gives out the water,keep it on low flame keep stirring for ten minutes.Now add the cooketuvar dhall to the subzi.Remove from the stove and shift the subzi to a vessel and add the finely cut curry leaves and koth mir leaves.Adding the cooked tuvar dhall is optional.
The roasted fenugreek powder and asafotida gives flavour to the subzi,apart from the fact that fenugreek is very good for diabetics in keeping sugsr level under control.
