Cauliflower and Broccoli Gravy

Ingredients

Cauliflower (seperated into florets)              2 cups
Broccoli (seperated into florets)                    2 cups
Onion                                                                   1
Garlic                                                                  3-4 cloves
Capsicum                                                          1
Almonds                                                            10
Butter                                                                  2 tsp
Tomato puree                                                   1/4 cup
Tomato sauce                                                  2 tblsp
Pepper powder                                                 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder                                              1/2 tsp
Milk                                                                      1/2 cup
Plain flour( maida)                                           1 tblsp
Salt                                                                      to taste
Chopped parsley                                              for garnish

Method

Place the cauliflower and broccoli florets in hot water for 2 mins. Drain and keep aside.
Deseed and cut the capsicum into 1/2 inch pieces.
Finely chop the onion and garlic.
Blanch the almonds, peel and grind into a fine paste with 1/2 cup of water.
Make a nice paste with the milk and maida.
Heat the butter in a pan, add the garlic and onion and fry for a few minutes.
Add the capsicum pieces and fry for another 2-3 minutes.
Now add the tomato puree, tomato sauce, milk- maida paste, almond paste and mix well. Add a little water if too thick.
Add the salt, red chilli powder and pepper powder and mix well.
Add the cauliflower and the broccoli florets and mix well.Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.


A pinch of mixed herbs can be added to enhance the taste.
