\Ingredients:
Prawns or shrimps 1/2 kg
250 gms red ripe pumkin cut into small cubes
salt as required
1 lemon , 1blsp ginger/garlic paste
4 tblespn. red chillie ,cummin(jeera) and garlic (2 whole garlic)paste. (i usually make this paste in about 2 tabsps of red malt vinegar in lumpsum and store in freeze and use and use when required.
pinch tumeric, sugar to taste.
mustard oil 2 big tablespoons.
METHOD:
put the mustard oi to heat in a nonstick frypan add the prawns/shrimps squeeze in the lemon and salt as required and stir fry till they are pinkish in colour add in the ginger garlic past and fry a bit more . then add the red chille past and the cut red pumkin stirfry till its aromatic , lower the flame and let the prawns and pumkin cook should take around 10 mins.
Once the pumkin is soft it will mash and merge when u stir. just see that the shrimps are not mashed as well.
the oil will flow to the top when the dish is cooked.
If using as a pickle let the oil remain , if serving as a side dish then drain out any excess oil . top with bit of cut corriander and serve with roti or rice and plain dal. Its just yummy.
