Janmashtami

JanmashtamiJanmashtami celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, one of the most venerated incarnations in the Hindu religion. Breaking the fast, morning prayers and worship mark the beginning of the day of the festival. Some of the traditional practices like Dahi Handi of Maharashtra or drawing patterns of little children’s feet outside the house with rice flour in some communities of South India complete the celebrations.
