Gundu Mor Molugai – When fried in oil, renders a special tangy taste to the curd rice..

 

Now is the time we get fresh Gundu Mor Molugai at the rate of around 40 Rs per Kg  at Mylapore tank market Chennai ( bargainable upto 37 Rs !! or even lesser for the ‘talented’ ones)

 

Preparation time : A week!

 

Procedure :Simple one..

Slit the chillies such that they still retain their shape. The chillies should not be cut or mutilated. These varieties have less seeds and are less spicy ..Soak them in yoghurt or buttermilk or mor for three days and then dry them under the sun for another three days to four days.

Add one spoon salt for one kg gundu chilli.

 

Soon they attain a brown color and are shrunk.

They are now ready to be fried in oil.


They form a good combination with curd rice.
