Boiled (Raw) rice - 500 gms Black gram (Urad dhal) - 100 gms Methi seeds - A pinch Cooked rice - handful Pressed rice (Poha) - handful Salt to taste
Method:
1. Wash the rice, black gram and methi seeds. Soak them in a little water along with presses rice and cooked rice for at least 5 hours. 2. Grind to a smooth paste with a little water. Cover and keep aside for at least five to seven hours. Add salt to taste and mix well. [The consistency should be medium thick batter.] 3. This batter can be used as basic batter for preparing masala dosa, sada dosa, onion uttapam, Mysore masala dosa, spring dosa, etc. 4. Use a stainless steel cup to pour the dosa batter onto the tawa, spread evently. The dosa edges pour around little oil and cook till crisp.
