Rice - 3 cups Cauliflower - i medium Potatoes - 3 Chilli powder - 1 tsp Pepper powder - 1 tsp Turmeric powder - 1 tsp Cumin powder - 1 tsp Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp Asafoetida - A pinch Ginger paste - 1 tsp Bay leaf - 1 Oil - 6 tbsp Salt to taste
Method :
1. Wash the rice and soak in water for 20 minutes. 2.Peel potatoes and cut into cubes. Separate cauliflower into medium flowerettes, soak in hot water 2-3 minutes with little salt. 3. Heat oil in a pressure pan, add potatoes and cauliflowers, fry till colour. 4. Add chilli powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, ginger paste, asafoetida, salt and bay leaf stir for a minute. 5. Add soaked rice with 4 1/2 cups of fresh water. 6. Close cooker and bring to 3 whistles. 7. Remove lid and sprinkle with garam masala powder and stir. 8. Garnish with coriander leaves and fried potato cubes and serve hot with vegetable sag.
