when we maharashtrians make Puran poli we used to make this delicious Kat Rassa.
 
Kat means boiled water of chana daal. after boiling and cooking of chanadaal for Puran poli its water is left and many people just throw it. Instead of throwing we can make below delicious dish rassa which u can eat with rice.
 
Take 2 bowls of Kat ( leftover boiled water of chana daal) and add some tamerind pupl in it.( if u don't have tamerind add 2 tablespoon of limejuice) and keep it aside.
 
Now fry 1 small chopped onion, 1 crushed green chili, ginger garlic paste, 1 chopped tomato, 1 ilailchi , 1 bowl grated fresh coconut & coriender leaves for 10 minuts and let it become dark brown roasted mix then shut the gas off. make it cool.
 
Make fine paste of above and add it in one pan roast this paste again for 5 minuts and add Kat - chana dal water in it and let it cook for 30 minuts. 
 
this rassa tastes good with rice or any paratha bhakari etc.
