ingredients:bitter gourd cut into small pieces;150gms,black til(gingelly)dry fried 20gms.tamerind paste 15gms.jaggery 20gms(this is a kind of countrymade crude cane sugar used in india)dry chillies fried in coconut oil 3,coconut scrapings 100gms,salt 7.5gms red chilly powder 5gms.(musturd seeds,split black gram,and curry leaves for garnish)
boil bitter gourd bits in a little water for 7mnts with tamerind,jaggery,chilly powder and a spoon and half salt.
meanwhile grind coconut with fried dry chillies to a fine paste.add this to the cooked gourd and boil for 3 mnts.
fry mustard,split gram&curry leaves in about 5ml.coconut oil and add to the boiling menaskai.transefer into a s
erving bowl.serve with cooked rice.
