Ingredients:
1 cup rice
1/2 cup channa dal
1 cup water
1 finely chopped tomato
1 finely chopped medium onion
2-3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1 tbsp ghee
Method:
1. Soak rice for 1/2 hour.
2. Pressure cook channa dal in 1 cup water till 1 whistle, drain. Keep aside the water for use later on.
3. Saute onion in ghee till golden brown, add garlic & saute for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat.
4. Add tomatoes, drained rice & drained channa dal, add 2 cups water(including the water in which channa dal was cooked., 1/2 tsp salt & cook till rice is done.
