Kunukku is an ideal teatime snack.
Ingredients required:
Parboiled rice :one cup
Tuvar dhal :one cup
Urad dhal:one cup
Channa dhal:one cup
Green chillies 4
Red chillies :5
Asafotita:one pinch
Salt to taste
Coconut grated:half a cup
Curry leaves:Afew leaves finely cut
Onion: One medium sized-opyional-finely cut
Oil To fry
How to make:
Soak the rice.dhals for three to four hours,since parboiled rice takes more time to become soft enough for grinding.Strain the water Add the chillies,asafotita,salt to the rice and dhalls ,grind in a mixi into a coarse,thick paste.Add the grated coconut,finely cut onion,mix well,make into medium sized balls.Heat the oil in kadai,and
deep fry the balls.tasty kunukku is ready to be served with chutny/sauce.
